London-based group RITUAL write sparse, lovelorn R&B tracks with simple folk and hip-hop influences. They possess helped compose and produce music by Aquilo, Dua Lipa, Frances, among others. They were produced by companies Adam Gross and Tommy Baxter, and shortly joined by vocalist Gerard O’Connell. RITUAL debuted in 2014 using the self-released EP The Fall. After accumulating interest from websites, the band agreed upon to Isle and released second EP From the town towards the Wilderness in 2015. The remix EP In the Wilderness to the town, which emphasized the group’s hip-hop affects, followed soon after. In 2016, RITUAL released the “Cinnamon” one, which preceded their EVERY EVENING Another HOWEVER, NOT You EP. Afterwards in the entire year, they released “Container Tops,” which highlighted visitor vocalist Mononoke (Katie Taylor), who eventually became the band’s 4th member. Singles “Leave” and “Drown the Fans” made an appearance in 2017.
