Ripple

An interracial Michigan soul-funk group, Ripple acquired an R&B strike in 1973 with “We HAVE NO IDEA What IT REALLY IS nonetheless it Sure Is Funky,” and produced other recordings for the GRC label within the mid-’70s. These were an eclectic hodgepodge of affects circulating in spirit music at that time — occasionally they can seem like a far more pop-inclined edition of Kool & the Gang, additional times they appear to be a less special variant of Stevie Question. Their make of funk was neither as well raw nor as well slick, with liberal pop and jazz affects. Those that like just-pre-disco funk will most likely benefit from the group.
