Rik Rok

b. Ricardo Ducent, 1974, Manchester, Jamaica, Western world Indies. Rik Rok originally pursued a profession being a songwriter at exactly the same time as graduating in the University from the Western Indies. While he gained a qualification in natural technology he managed a like of music. In 1995 although he was still students at university or college he concurrently performed like a support vocalist for Patra. On completing his research his 1st attempt like a performer was when he was recruited within the L.U.S.T. line-up following a departure of Lukie D. The opportunity was short-lived although a reunion with Nigel Kent of Ruff Kutt resulted in an introduction with Mikey Bennett. While rehearsing in Bennett’s studio room Shaggy noticed Rik Rok perform and was suitably impressed. Shaggy asked Rik Rok to become listed on the Big Backyard crew alongside performers such as for example Rayvon, Brian And Tony Platinum and Marsha. In 2000 Rik Rok documented ‘It Wasn’t Me’ with Shaggy. The mix of Rik Rok performing, ‘She noticed the marks on my make – heard what that I informed her – actually captured us on video camera – noticed the screams gettin’ louder’ with Shaggy chanting ‘It wasn’t me’ between your lines demonstrated an assured strike, as well as the monitor topped the pop graphs throughout European countries and the united states. In Dec 2001 Shaggy’s fresh recording was remixed with reward songs including another Rik Rok mixture, ‘Special Demand’.
