Rifles at Recess

Rifles in Recess’ debut record is titled Whisper in Tongues, and that is an extremely ironic name because their music certainly doesn’t appear to be a whisper — quite contrary, actually. A bombastic, extreme loss of life metal/black metal music group with hardcore, metalcore and thrash steel affects, Rifles at Recess prosper on sledgehammer brutality. Robb Johnson’s business lead vocals are definately not simple; he alternates between metalcore-style screaming as well as the larynx-shredding, satanic-style growling that loss of life metal, black steel, and grindcore are recognized for — and in any event, he doesn’t have confidence in acquiring any prisoners. Johnson and his co-workers do, however, have confidence in regular tempo changes. Although some loss of life metal combos elect to play at the same tempo — ultra-fast — morning hours, noon, and night time, the Tennessee-based Rifles at Recess haven’t any problem heading from fast to sluggish to medium during a music. The name Rifles at Recess is obviously an interest grabber; members from the music group have already been quoted as stating that their name isn’t designed to promote assault or poke fun at violent occurrences in American universities (like the tragic shootings at Columbine SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in Colorado in 1999), but instead, is really a commentary on what dysfunctional American culture got become in the first 2000s. Johnson and guitarist Chad Hughes made a decision to type Rifles at Recess in Dayton, TN (never to become puzzled with Dayton, OH) in August 2001; each of them got played together inside a Tennessee music group known as Shimron Meron from 1999-2001.
