Ricky Fanté

Southeast Washington, D.C. indigenous, and spirit revivalist Ricky Fanté, was weaned on limitless Motown, Stax, and Blue Notice records. The previous choirboy created his soulful vocal design during his teenager years, mimicking Stevie Question and Elvis Presley on community street edges. His like of gospel originated from the chapel, and his like of the rest came type his parents, whose eclectic likes in music packed the home both night and day. Fanté enlisted within the Marines after senior high school, finished his four years, after that headed to LA to attend university and pursue his imagine making music expertly. Just half a year later he got a cope with a small impartial record label by earning a talent competition. It was after that that Fanté made a decision to focus most of his energies on his music profession, and dropped from college. A demonstration of his two-man group known as Soul Surfers dropped in to the hands of A&R professional Josh Deutsch, resulting in a development offer in 2001. In 2002, Fanté installed with Norah Jones’ collaborator Jesse Harris, and started co-writing and documenting for his debut record. In 2003, they released Presenting…Ricky Fanté, a 4 song EP that served like a teaser for 2004’s full-length debut for Virgin Information, Rewind.
