Rickie Byars

Rickie Byars has truly gone from performing with such jazz performers while Pharoah Sanders, Roland Hanna, and the brand new York Jazz Outfit to composing and executing for god, the father. The leader from the Culver Town, CA-based Sound of Agape Rhythms, a multi-ethnic group she founded with her hubby and songwriting partner, Reverend Michael Beckwith, Byars provides helped promote the music ministry from the Agape International Middle of Truth, house from the Agape Cathedral of Religious Research. Born and elevated in NEW YORK, Byars shown musical skill as a young child. After learning with choir directors in segregated churches, she received many scholarship offers to wait East Coast schools. Turning down the presents, she elected to wait Morris Brown University in Atlanta, where she researched composition. Shifting to NY, Byars became an in-demand program vocalist, showing up with lots of the city’s best jazz music artists. She continued to execute jazz until relocating to LA in the first ’80s. Soon after her move, she was asked by Beckwith to create a choir. A season later, she started her songwriting cooperation with Beckwith, composing an extended litany, “Eternal Dance Music.” Byars provides continued to go after a solo profession, aswell, having released two unforgettable single albums, Deeper Appreciate and In the Property of I Am, that was produced by previous Michael Jackson, Kenny Loggins, and Un DeBarge manufacturer John Barnes. A skilled workshop facilitator, Byars is really a regular contributor of content published within the Agape Eyesight paper, Inner Visions, daily deep breathing guides, and an online magazine, Spirit Issues. She received an honorary doctorate level in music through the United Cathedral of Religious Research. In 1996, the cathedral honored her its first-ever Arts prize.
