Rickey & Jennell

Rickey & Jennell were the male-female duo of Richard Berry and his friend Jennell Hawkins, who released a unitary on Flair in 1954, “Each Stage”/”THIS TIME AROUND It’s True.” Both edges were regular doo wop duets — “Each Stage” a ballad, “THIS TIME AROUND It’s Actual” in the greater uptempo R&B vein — and also have been reissued around the Richard Berry compilation Yama Yama! THE PRESENT DAY Recordings 1954-1956. Berry, obviously, was just in the beginning of a profession that would discover him issuing many R&B and rock and roll & roll information as a single designer, most famously on the initial edition of “Louie, Louie” in 1957.
