Rick Cunha

b. 17 July 1944, Washington, DC, USA. Elevated in southern California, guitarist/vocalist Cunha was a creator person in Hearts And Blossoms, a pivotal middle-60s US nation/folk trio. He made an appearance on the debut recording, but was changed by Bernie Leadon for Of Horses, Children And Forgotten Ladies. Cunha subsequently appreciated a spell as web host at the famous LA Troubador Membership, before spending many years touring with guitarist Mason Williams. Through the 70s the musician made several program performances, notably on John Stewart’s The Lonesome Picker Trips Again, before documenting the exemplary Music, a superior collection of country-influenced materials. Cunha also appreciated a successful association with Emmylou Harris, adding to BITS OF The Sky (1975), Top notch Resort (1976) and High end Liner (1977). A documenting agreement with CBS Information ensued, however the label didn’t discharge the resultant record, which latterly made an appearance on an unbiased electric outlet, Sierra, as Shifting Pictures. The hold off unfortunately undermined the profession of this amazing musician who non-etheless retains the respect of his peers.
