Rick Braun

A local of Allentown, Pa, trumpeter Rick Braun initial surfaced as an associate from the jazz-fusion clothing Auracle, formed while he was students on the prestigious Eastman College of Music. After two LPs the group disbanded, and Braun considered songwriting, scoring popular with REO Speedwagon’s “Right here beside me.” With time, he aimed his concentrate to modern jazz, issuing his single debut, Personal Secrets, in 1993. After touring with Sade, he came back in 1994 with Evening Walk along with the seasonal discharge Xmas Present. With 1995’s Defeat Street, Braun’s reputation continuing to snowball. The 1996 smash Body and Spirit released a NAC chart-topper entitled “Notorious.” A two-time champion from the Gavin Report’s Simple Jazz Musician of the entire year award, he came back in 1998 with Complete Stride. He also collaborated with Boney Wayne within the 2000 launch Tremble It Up. Kisses in the torrential rain followed a 12 months later on, and Braun continuing issuing albums through the entire decade from the 2000s, including Esperanto in 2003, Classes, Vol. 1 in 2004, Yours Truly in 2005, RnR (a duo collection co-led by saxophonist Richard Elliot) in 2007, and everything It Takes in ’09 2009. Braun provided up a big change of speed in 2011 using the self-explanatory Sings with Strings, an recording of standards offering string graphs by Philippe Saisse. In 2014, Braun came back towards the groove-oriented, instrumental, clean jazz of his early use Can You Experience It. Round the Horn made an appearance in 2017 on Shanachie, and gained positive reviews and a high positioning within the jazz recording charts.
