Richard Smallwood

A tenured, talented, and respected inspirational pianist, singer, songwriter, and maker within the gospel music business because the ’70s, Richard Smallwood was created in Atlanta, Georgia on November 30, 1948. After graduating from Howard University or college (his classmates included Donny Hathaway, Debbie Allen, and Phylicia Rashad), where he gained levels in vocal overall performance and piano, Smallwood trained music in the University or college of Maryland and finally created the Richard Smallwood Performers, placing out an eponymous debut recording in 1982 that spent an extraordinary 87 weeks on Billboard’s gospel graph. The group loved success in to the early ’90s, liberating a bevy of strike information before Smallwood place the task to rest and started liberating albums along with his choir, Eyesight, who produced their debut in 1996 using the Verity-issued Adoration: Reside in Atlanta. Furthermore to his use the Richard Smallwood Performers and Eyesight, Smallwood has already established his songs documented by famous brands Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Kid, Kelly Cost, Gerald Levert, and Aretha Franklin. Smallwood’s ambitious two-disc Anthology Live premiered in 2015.
