Richard Leveridge

Leveridge’s compositions had been mainly written for the favorite theater and included several books of tracks, friendly drinking tracks, light aria-like items performed between functions at the theater, and tracks performed after theatrical shows (a fresh type of music dubbed the `after-piece’.) Popular due to his strong tone of voice — quite versatile through the years that Purcell could compose for him — Leveridge was a respected figure for the London stage throughout his existence.
