Richard Horowitz

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Richard Horowitz focuses on music from the center East. From 1968 to 1979, Horowitz resided in Paris and Morocco, where he researched music, Arabic, French, and Oriental idea while executing throughout European countries and Morocco. Horowitz provides musical root base in traditional, jazz, and digital/pc music, and he provides researched trance, tribal, traditional, and sacred music from North Africa to Indonesia. He has keyboards, percussion, and different wind instruments, like the ney, an obliquely blown reed flute. Horowitz provides have scored many feature movies and received a Golden World and the LA Film Critics Association prize for his focus on The Sheltering Sky, aimed by Bernardo Bertolucci. In 1981, Horowitz begun to use Sussan Deyhim, a vocalist delivered in Tehran. They will have performed jointly internationally since 1984 and also have collaborated on mass media theatre parts, ballets, and show and brief film music tasks. Their 1997 Sony Classical record Majoun highlighted a stellar selection of visitor artists from globe music, rock and roll, and jazz. Jaron Lanier, the daddy of virtual fact, is a regular collaborator; in 1997, both presented a visible overall performance duet (“digital movement to music”) at MIDEM in Cannes, Japan, and Brazil. He offers resided in London since 1994.
