Richard Hoffman

As an British music college student Hoffman took lessons with de Meyer, Pleyel, Moscheles, Rubenstein, Dohler and Liszt. At age sixteen he emigrated to america where he produced his debut in NY carrying out Mendelssohn’s G-mol Concerto and Hummel’s Septet. He was afforded the chance to visit with Jenny Lind on her behalf tour from the U.S. and soloed frequently with THE BRAND NEW York Philharmonic Orchestra. Hoffman made an appearance with Gottshalk, beneath the baton of Bulow, as well as for the fiftieth wedding anniversary of his debut. He made up more than a hundred piano functions and tunes including “My like is similar to a red, reddish rose.”
