Richard Hal Dobson

b. 19 March 1942, Tyler, Tx, USA. Dobson prepared to be always a novelist and he just took up your guitar and began songwriting in 1963. He performed in Tx folk night clubs alongside Man Clark and Townes Vehicle Zandt, but a gathering with David Allan Coe’s music group outside a Nashville documenting studio resulted in Coe immediately documenting ‘Piece Of Real wood And Metal’. With the amount of money he preserved from focusing on shrimpers and essential oil rigs, Dobson could finance his highly regarded debut, In Tx Last Dec. The recording included ‘Baby Trip Easy’, that was recorded like a duet by Carlene Carter and Dave Edmunds. Dobson had written regularly for the united kingdom fanzine Omaha Rainbow, and his book, The Gulf Coastline Boys, was released in 1998. Nanci Griffith, who documented his music ‘The Ballad Of Robin Wintersmith’, phone calls him ‘the Hemingway of nation music’, but he is not able to increase his pursuing. His best-known music is ‘Aged Close friends’, which he had written with Man and Susanna Clark, and that was used because the title tabs on Clark’s 1988 record. In the first 90s Dobson agreed upon using the Swiss record label Brambus. He presently lives in Switzerland.
