Richard Carpenter

Richard Carpenter was one-half from the brother-sister duo the Carpenters. He organized, performed piano, and sang backup vocals together with his sister, Karen, who drummed and sang business lead vocals. Richard began monitoring traditional piano at age group nine and continuing while going to Yale. The Carpenter family members relocated to Downey, CA, in 1963, and Richard continuing his studies in the University or college of Southern California and California Condition University at Long Seaside. In 1965, he created a group along with his sister along with a third member. This trio documented unsuccessfully for RCA and was accompanied by a six-piece, Range, that also didn’t register. But Richard and Karen had been authorized to A&M in 1969. Because the Carpenters, they loved tremendous commercial achievement with some soft rock and roll ballads through the 1st fifty percent of the ’70s, a few of them co-written by Richard. Karen passed away in 1983 because of problems from anorexia nervosa. Richard released his debut single album, Period, in Oct 1987.
