Revelation

This nine-piece UK-based reggae unit enjoyed a way of measuring success within the latter half of the 70s. The line-up presented Irving ‘Chief executive’ Graham (bass/vocals/percussion), Gary ‘Flatfoot’ Dixon (drums/percussion), Stuart ‘Russian’ Greene (keyboards) and Paul ‘Pablo’ Dixon (percussion) whilst Leonard ‘Da Vinci’ Graham and Elvis ‘Judah’ Preddie distributed lead guitar, tempo acoustic guitar and vocals responsibilities. The rest of the three members contains the feminine vocal trio, Unique, whose line-up presented Valerie Shakes, Iris ‘Menace’ and Carol Grey. The band people all hailed from east London where in 1977 they begun to perform locally. Another year the music group relished wider publicity when they backed Fred Hair on his UK tour. The group also released their magnum opus and debut, the piquant ‘With You Boy’, in conjunction with the similarly popular ‘Jah Emotions’. In 1979 the group embarked on documenting periods with Clement Bushay at Burning up Sounds which led to the favoured, Reserve Of Revelation. The record showed the group’s flexibility notably over the monitors ‘Jook Dem’, ‘Survival’, ‘Discharge Us’ and ‘You I WANT TO Down’. The last mentioned echoed the 60s traditional ‘Guilty’ by Laurel Aitken when he performed as Tiger. The music group were also utilized to aid Junior British on his UK tour and in Dec headlined their very own present in London’s notorious 100 Membership. The membership was celebrated because of its Punk Festival as well as the organisers systematically marketed reggae to be a punk affiliate marketer.
