René & Angela had been an early-’80s spirit duo from LA. Before developing in 1977, René Moore — the sibling of Rufus’ Bobby Watson — used the Brothers Johnson; Angela Winbush acquired sung back-up vocals for Dolly Parton, Lenny Williams, and Jean Carn. René & Angela acquired their initial R&B strike for Capitol Information in 1980 and proceeded to possess seven other strikes over another 3 years. Along with Watson, they collaborated as songwriters and manufacturers for famous brands Rufus & Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, and Plush. In 1985, the duo turned to Mercury, where that they had the main R&B strike “SAVE YOUR VALUABLE Like (For #1)” — their first one from the record Street Known as Desire. Over another season, the group acquired three other TOP hits — like the number 1 R&B one “Your Smile” and the quantity two “You don’t need to Cry” — before going after solo professions. Moore released a single recording in 1988 and co-wrote Michael Jackson’s “Jam,” while Winbush loved more success through the tail-end from the decade as well as the 1st half from the ’90s. Winbush also published and produced materials for Ronald Isley, the Isley Brothers, Stephanie Mills, and Lalah Hathaway; she and Isley had been briefly married.
