Renata

Before signing to a significant label and changing their name, the final Goodnight were Renata, an organization that found its beginning at a residence party in Enfield, CT, when Kurtis John Henneberry saw Mike Nadeau playing your guitar. They exchanged off playing tunes, trying to win over girls, and experienced enough fun carrying it out that they made a decision to start a music group. Phoning themselves Haze and with Henneberry on vocals, they enlisted fellow classmates Leif Christensen on bass and John Oleary on drums, attracting friend Anton Yurack on harmonica (and as another guitarist and history vocalist) after he became a member of them spontaneously during an early on show. Ultimately they transformed their name to Renata, after a waitress who experienced served them regularly when they had been first training, and started to tour the Northeast, placing out two self-released full-lengths, She Walked with Kings as well as the Other Part of Globe, in 2000 and 2003, respectively. Their Keeping track of Crows/Coldplay-esque audio helped make sure they are popular with the faculty crowd, and gained Renata regional accolades, and in 2004 the bandmembers made a decision to mind western to try their fortune there. After playing a gig in L.A., previous RCA maker/A&R guy Jeff Blue approached them on the in the past to Connecticut, impressed using their energy but thinking they had a need to improve their audio. He caused them for another 12 months on finalizing a demonstration tape, assisting them polish their tunes and guiding them in the path toward performers like Maroon 5, Rob Thomas, and Teach. It apparently worked well, because in 2006 the group, today calling itself the final Goodnight, agreed upon to Virgin/Capitol Information and soon started focus on its major-label debut. At this time, Henneberry made a decision to drop his last name, pianist and keyboardist Ely Rise was added in, and drummer Oleary still left and was changed by Larone “Skeeter” McMillan. These adjustments in place, the final Goodnight released Poison Kiss (heralded with the single “Images of You”) in August of 2007.
