Australia’s longest-lived early music outfit, the Renaissance Players had been initial assembled in 1967 by multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger Winsome Evans. Using a revolving line-up typically using nine to ten music artists in tandem using a poetry audience and miming clowns, the group amassed a massive repertoire of over 2500 music spanning in the ninth century for this; in addition with their regular concert shows, in 1973 the Renaissance Players also founded the annual Runnymede Pop Celebration. (Another yearly custom, their Xmas Pudding Concert, was conceived 3 years afterwards.) Their recordings are the multi-chapter Sephardic Knowledge series, released in the Celestial Harmonies label through the past due 1990s so when a container in 1999.
