Reginaldo Bessa participated in virtually all editions from the Event da Mayção (Track Event) and was a finalist from the Event Abertura (Abertura Event of Television Globo, sketching its denomination from the time of re-democratization in the mid-70’s). His biggest strikes, “O Tempo”, “Tem Dendê”, “Qualquer Dia Desses” and “Sonho de uma Noite de Verão” had been documented by Alcione, Claudette Soares, Roberto Ribeiro, Sônia Santos, Maysa, Agnaldo Rayol, Elza Soares and Maria Creuza. In 1966 he published “Não Se Morre de Mal de Amor”, interpreted by Taiguara in the I Event Internacional da Canção, FIC (International Track Event, Rio de Janeiro); within the next 12 months, “Chora, Minha Nega” was a finalist in the II FIC; in 1968, “Mestre-Sala” was categorized for the III FIC; and in 1975 “O tempo” was categorized for the Event Abertura. Bessa documented his first recording in 1961, along with his “Sombras de Amor” and “Tema de Samba”, (with Steve Bernard). 2 yrs later he visited Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he became a specialist singer, having worked well in night clubs, performed in radio and Television and recorded for the reason that nation the bossa nova LP Amor em Bossa Nova with eight originals.
