Daughter of the opera vocalist, Regina Machado is a music graduate from the Condition College or university of Campinas, São paulo (UNICAMP), having also studied vocal jazz in the U.S. She got her professional debut in 1981, as an associate of Tom Zé’s music group, having supported also Cristóvão Bastos, Marco Pereira and Gal Costa. A respected teacher, she got Mônica Salmaso among her college students. Her first single premiered in 2000, Sobre a Paixão, with originals, tracks by Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque and bits of chamber music for tone of voice by Heinrich Heine and Robert Schumann.
