Reggae Boys

The Reggae Boyz was the appellation directed at the Jamaican Globe Glass Squad in 1998. The nationwide soccer team had been the very first Commonwealth Country within the Caribbean to be eligible for the World Glass competition in France. Furthermore to ‘Kick It’, significant releases included the united kingdom chart strike ‘Rise Up’, performed by Jamaica United (which presented, amongst others, Buju Banton, Toots Hibbert, Ziggy Marley, Shaggy, Diana Ruler, Ini Kamoze and Tony Rebel), soca celebrity Astronaut’s ‘Jamaica Globe Glass’, Donna Marie’s ‘Bam Bam Reggae Boyz’, and Sanchez’s ‘Reggae Boyz Goin’ To France’, while Leon Leiffer from the Blackstones, using the UK-based Reggae ’98 team, chanted ‘Proceed Jamaica Proceed’.
