Reg Schwager

A guitarist of significant music relevance, Reg Schwager has spent a lot of his professional profession living in family member obscurity in Toronto, Canada. A distinctly singular tone of voice on his device, Schwager’s playing shows a thorough knowledge of the entire background of the genre, in the pre-swing with the free of charge jazz actions (Schwager spent period learning with pianist Cecil Taylor.) Regarded a kid prodigy, Schwager had been executing in Canada with vibraphonist Peter Appleyard in his mid-teens. His popularity led to shows with Pepper Adams, Jon Hendricks, Hank Jones, Junior Mance, Jimmy McGriff, Zoot Sims, George F. Benson, J.R. Monterose, Chet Baker, Dave Youthful, Rob McConnell, and Oliver Jones, and a long-term tenure in George Shearing’s functioning group. Schwager also retains the guitar seat within the Toronto-based Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra, to which he’s a normal contributor of compositions and agreements.
