Red & the Red Hots

The 10-piece swing band Red & The Red Hots formed in Texas in 1985. The group’s lead vocalist/songwriter/maker/pianist Crimson Young relocated the Crimson Hots’ head office to L.A. 3 years later, where in fact the music group resolved into its more-or-less long term lineup: vocalists Rebecca Downs, Cassie Miller and Jennifer Griffin, saxophonist Keith Fiddmont, trumpet participant Brian Swartz, drummer Randy Landas along with a revolving cast of horn players, including Greg Smith, Lee Thornburg, Scott Englebright and Matt Zebley. Crimson & The Crimson Hots perform regular times in the Western and Southwest, and released two albums, 1998’s Boogie Guy and the next year’s Gettin’ Around, both released on Young’s personal Crimson Young label.
