This Canadian pop metal act was formed by guitarist Steve Madden with Jan Melanson (vocals), Gene Stout (bass) and Gil Roberts (drums), originally beneath the name Harlow. Reckless surfaced to some generally positive reception, with industrial guitar-led metal inside a Vehicle Halen vein provided individual identification by Melanson’s quirky vocal delivery. In conjunction with the frontwoman’s stunning blond appears, this appeared to provide Reckless an opportunity to stick out from the masses. However, the recording bombed, as well as the band split up. Madden attempted again with a fresh line-up offering Doug Adams (vocals), Todd Pilon (bass) and Steve Wayne Lederman (drums), but while Center Of Metal was another great effort centered around Madden’s stylish acoustic guitar function, it lacked the exclusive characteristics of its forerunner, as well as the band faded.
