Rebop Kwaku Baah

The rhythms of Nigeria were taken to Uk rock by percussionist/singer Anthony “Reebop” Kwaku Baah. An associate of Traffic through the early ’70s, Baah became the only real non-founding member using the group much longer than Dave Mason. He consequently caused German rock rings CAN and Zahara, and documented several impressive single albums. His 1977 recording Trance was a cooperation with traditional Moroccan music artists from your mystical Ganoua sect. A indigenous of Lagos, Nigeria, Baah relocated to England within the ’60s. He was surviving in Sweden in 1971 when Steve Winwood asked him to record and tour with Visitors. Although he continued to be using the group for the rest from the ’70s, he well balanced his participation with solo tasks. His debut single effort Reebop, documented with Swedish music artists and released in 1972, was accompanied by Anthony Reebop Kwaku Baah in 1973 and Trance in 1977. Baah passed away of the cerebral hemmorage in 1983 while onstage in Sweden. His last album, Melodies within a Jungle Man’s Mind, was never completed but found discharge in 1989.
