Rays

Oakland, California D.We.Con. punks Rays shaped in 2015 out of the insular but prolific picture of intertwined rings like the Globe, Lifestyle Stinks, Violent Modification, yet others. Drummer Alexa Pantalone, bassist Eva Hannan, vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Troy Hewitt, and guitarist/vocalist/violinist Stanley Martinez channeled the unpolished melancholy of New Zealand university rock to their art-damaged punk tracks. The band performed the Bay Region constantly and done some on the web demos before completing a self-titled debut full-length in early 2017 with help from manufacturer Kelley Stoltz. Heightened creation on the record made even more space for Rays to include loud, experimental synthesizers and blasts of dissonant violin to their rough-edged punk tracks.
