Percussionist, vocalist, composer, and bandleader Raúl Lara was raised surrounded by music in Havana, Cuba. Through the ’80s, he performed in several performing organizations and was tutored by José Luis Quintana (aka Changuito). In 1990, Lara relocated to Sweden, where he toured with famous brands Timba Odara and Boy Entero. Lara’s profession turned a part after he constructed his ten-member Soneros, offering music artists from Cuba and Sweden. They began touring Scandinavia in ’09 2009 and, in 2012, they released an effective recording, Cubano Soy. It had been nominated to get a 2013 Grammy in the group of Greatest Tropical Latin Recording.
