Raphe Malik

An exuberant, rough-hewn participant, Malik is among the few trumpeters to master the type of high-energy free of charge jazz made well-known by pianist Cecil Taylor and his acolytes. Certainly, Malik is most beneficial known for his function in Taylor’s several ’70s and ’80s rings. Malik was created and raised within the Boston region. He went to the School of Massachusetts from 1966-1970, after that visited Paris, where he fulfilled saxophonist Frank Wright and associates of the Artwork Outfit of Chicago. In 1974, Malik performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall within a Taylor big music group. Malik performed and documented with Taylor within the middle-’70s, touring European countries many times, and would continue steadily to play with the pianist sporadically with the ’80s. Within the ’90s, Malik started recording being a leader, producing albums for the Eremite, Mapleshade, and FMP brands. He also performs and information with Boston-based drummer Dennis Warren’s Total Metal Groundbreaking Jazz Ensemble.
