Randy Sandke

Since his emergence in the mid-’80s, Randy Sandke continues to be among the top swing-oriented trumpeters in jazz. His old sibling Jordan (himself an excellent trumpeter) released Randy to the countless varieties of jazz. In 1968 he shaped a rock-band with Michael Brecker that presented a horn section plus they played in the Notre Dame Jazz Event. However, Sandke got to carefully turn down the chance to become listed on Janis Joplin’s music group because of a hernia in his neck. Although a surgical procedure corrected the issue, Sandke’s lack of confidence led to him deciding to consider up your guitar and he worked well in NY like a guitarist for another 10 years. Finally, he was persuaded to consider in the trumpet once again and Sandke spent five years with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks, worked well frequently with Bob Wilber, and he was an integral part of Benny Goodman’s last music group during 1985-1986. After that Sandke spent some time working and documented with Buck Clayton, Michael Brecker, the Newport All-Stars, Jon Hendricks, Ralph Sutton, Kenny Davern, Benny Carter, Dizzy Gillespie, the World’s Greatest Jazz Music group, Mel Tormé, and Joe Williams among numerous others, touring European countries over 20 instances. Furthermore, he has documented several amazing albums like a innovator for Jazzology and Concord.
