Ran-Dells

This US pop group was formed in the first 60s in Villas, NJ. The Ran-Dells are recalled limited to their 1963 novelty strike, ‘Martian Hop’, among numerous songs through the 50s and 60s to capitalize over the exploration of space and the chance of alien guests. The group was a trio made up of cousins Steven Rappaport (b. 1943, USA, d. 4 July 2007, Maui, Hawaii, USA), Robert Rappaport (b. 1943, USA) and John Spirt (b. 1949). ‘Martian Hop’ was constructed by all three and theorized that Martians had been most likely great dancers. Released on the tiny Chairman label, it reached amount 16 within the fall of 1963. Two follow-up singles, ‘Audio Of The Sunlight’ and ‘Beyond The Superstars’, didn’t chart as well as the Ran-Dells eventually split up.
