Raccoon

Raccoon, having dubbed itself “schizophrenic pop,” includes melodic songwriting sensibilities, rock and roll & roll recommendations, and an inkling for experimentation to art furious, devil-may-care music that invoke a slew of affects even though remaining wholly unique. Since developing in Philadelphia in 1997, the music group has drawn with an eclectic couple of influences, from your Talking Heads towards the Soft Males, Pavement towards the Clash. Having a wink towards the Beatles, all members contribute tunes, lyrics, and vocals. Andrew Jones on bass/vocals and Rory Connell on acoustic guitar/vocals supply the consistency that provides the music group its gravity, while both Toby Leaman and Scott McMicken perform as schizophrenic as their music, offering acoustic guitar, drums, and vocals. Raccoon’s self-titled debut — filled with charging, classic rock and roll riffs that collapse in on themselves and immediate, dire adjustments — premiered on Sonic Stream in-may of 2001.
