Quinn XCII is a Detroit-based vocalist and songwriter who fuses pop, hip-hop, reggae, and EDM into his personal unique audio. His songs are usually about failed associations and heartbreak, but they’re frequently sung or rapped over shiny, sunny backing songs that partly disguise the melancholy sentiments from the lyrics. He started producing music in senior high school and later on, while students at Michigan Condition University, dealing with his Ann Arbor-based friend Ayokay on many songs. His hip-hop mixtape Shlup made an appearance in 2013, but he obtained more interest as his music became even more pop-focused. Following spring 2015 discharge of his Transformation of Landscape EP, his one “Stung” premiered by Atlantic imprint Flavor and Tone afterwards in the entire year. “Kings of Summertime,” a cooperation with Ayokay, implemented in early 2016, as do Quinn’s EP Bloom. A set of catchy singles, “Straightjacket” and “Make Period,” slipped in past due 2016 and early 2017, respectively.
