Quilt

The brainchild of Shane Butler and Anna Fox Rochinski, who formed the band while their studies at Boston’s College from the Museum of Great Arts, Quilt craft psychedelic pop that evokes ’60s idealism without feeling too indebted to it. Butler grew up in a religious community that portrayed itself with musical chanting, while Rochinski’s flair for vocal harmonies originated from her amount of time in traditional choirs. With founding drummer Taylor McVay, Quilt released several cassettes’ worthy of of materials before dealing with Apollo Sunshine’s Jesse Gallagher on the self-titled debut record for the better element of a calendar year; Mexican Summer months released Quilt past due in 2011.
