Quicksand

The choice metal band Quicksand emerged from the brand new York City hardcore scene from the past due ’80s; before arriving jointly in 1990, vocalist/guitarist Walter Schreifels, guitarist Tom Capone, bassist Sergio Vega, and drummer Alan Cage all honed their chops in some local works, including Youngsters of Today, the Gorilla Biscuits, and Daring and Beyond. A self-titled EP shortly implemented, and in 1992, Quicksand released their Polygram debut, Slide, earning airplay using the one “Dine By itself.” After touring to get their sophomore work, 1995’s Manic Compression, the group disbanded, and then attempt an unfruitful reunion 2 yrs later prior to going their distinct ways once again. Quicksand’s former people have got since cropped up in various other clothes (Capone in Attractive, Schreifels in Competitor Institutions, etc.), and even though they under no circumstances broke out of cult position during the period of their two-album-long profession, Quicksand’s impact can be was feeling, specifically on such rings as Quality, Absolve, Thursday, with the Drive-In, amongst others.
