Qui

Los Angeles-based experimental steel/sound/punk clothing Qui were formed in 2000 throughout the abilities of drummer/vocalist Paul Christensen and guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk. The duo released their debut record, Baby Kisses, over the Heart of the Champ label in 2003. Jesus Lizard vocalist David Yow became a member of the group in 2006, showing up on the one “Today, Gestation,” that was released on Infrasonic Audio Recordings. Afterwards that calendar year the newly produced trio came out at Austin’s South by Southwest celebration, where they fulfilled Ipecac masterminds Mike Patton and Greg Werckman, who agreed upon Qui and released their full-length debut, Love’s Magic, on Sept 11, 2007. The next year, Yow experienced a punctured lung, as well as the project continued an indefinite hiatus. In 2014, Christensen and Cronk, sans Yow, came back with album number 2, Life, Drinking water, Living…, implemented in 2016 with the five-track EP Ways to get Tips.
