Quarta330

Quarta330 may be the moniker of Japanese electronic musician Toru Koda. Similarly inspired by Jamaican audio system lifestyle and 8-little bit gaming music, his make of pixillated dub provides made a direct effect on both chiptune and dubstep moments. After debuting in 2006 with Dot Bubbles, a CD-R released by Swedish label Lo-Bit Playground Recordings, he made an appearance on 8bitpeoples’ 8BP050 compilation. The next calendar year, Hyperdub released Quarta330’s “Sunset Dub” being a 12″ one, along with his remix of label mind Kode9’s “9 Samurai” over the flipside. Another Quarta330 one, “Sabacco,” made an appearance over the label a calendar year later, this time around supported by his remix of the monitor by Cardopusher. He also remixed monitors by Traveling Lotus and dDamage and made an appearance over the 5 Many years of Hyperdub compilation. After launching a 2009 one on Japanese netlabel Maltine Information, he released another Hyperdub 12″ this year 2010, this time around in cooperation with dubstep group L.V., and supported using their remix of the monitor by Japanese chiptune musician Dong. Small was noticed from Quarta330 for a couple of years, until his monitor “Hanabi” appeared for the Hyperdub 10.1 compilation. The monitor reflected the impact of Chicago footwork, which got made a significant impact on japan underground digital music picture. An EP entitled Mokelembembe premiered by netlabel Sabacan Information in 2015, sports an even more lush, reflective audio than his previously function. In 2017, he released the Pixelated EP, his 1st Hyperdub launch in seven years.
