Psychotica

The industrial goth band Psychotica was founded in 1994 by singer Pat Briggs, an alumnus from the glam rock outfit R.U.Prepared who was at that time managing the tiny NEW YORK nightclub Don Hill’s. Prompted to form a fresh band to improve membership attendance, Briggs teamed with bassist and Don Hill bartender Tommy Salmorin to discovered Psychotica, soon getting aboard onetime White colored Zombie guitarist Ena Kostabi, Nine Methods to Weekend cellist Enrique Tiru Velez, support vocalist Reeka, and drummer Buz. After their 1st live show, the group authorized to the American label, liberating their 1996 debut LP a couple weeks after starting a stint because the starting take action on that summer’s Lollapalooza tour. By 1997, both Salmorin and Buz experienced exited to create a fresh group, Numb, and Reeka was also from the band; the rest of the trio of Briggs, Kostabi and Velez welcomed synth participant Doug DeAngelis, pianist Bette Sussman bagpipe participant Richard Markoff and koto participant Mark Stanley with time towards the record the next Psychotica LP, 1998’s Espina.
