Psychic Twin is definitely a dreamy synth-pop project helmed by Illinois indigenous Erin Fein. Her tracks typically feature lush synthesizers, propulsive beats, and fluttering back-up vocals influenced by performers like Kate Bush and Annie Lennox. Originally from Champaign-Urbana, she started writing and documenting solo material through the early 2010s, acquiring the name Psychic Twin as she discovered herself channeling energy that led her to trust that she was spiritually collaborating with her nonexistent twin. Steadily, Psychic Twin integrated synthesizer participant Brett Sanderson and drummer Jonny Sommer. The group’s 1st launch was 2012 solitary “Gonna Obtain Her,” released like a 7″ by Lefse Information. Pursuing Fein’s divorce, the group shifted to Brooklyn in 2013, and Polyvinyl released the band’s second solitary, “Strangers.” Over another couple of years, Fein recorded her life encounters with her songwriting, as well as the group shifted lineups, ultimately finding yourself a duo with drummer Rosana Caban. Remix EP Stainless- Sparks Matches Psychic Twin preceded the group’s debut full-length, Unusual Journal, released by Polyvinyl in Sept 2016.
