Proto Idiot

Mancunian garage punk outfit Proto Idiot took shape in 2007 being a single side project from Hipshakes guitarist Andrew Anderson. Cheekily self-described as “dim-witted” and “ill-advised,” Anderson’s function beneath the Proto Idiot banner in fact shown an innate knack for hooky, jangly, lo-fi electric guitar pop. Encircling himself with people from like-minded rings like CoCoComa and Adverse Scanner, he shipped early singles and EPs like Wanting to Make Music (2012) and Sunday Night (2013). A lot of Proto Idiot’s result continues to be self-released, but a small number of singles and EPs had been issued by brands like Trouble at heart, Odd Package, and Crimson Lounge. In 2014, Anderson was became a member of by full-time cohorts Michael Floyd Seal on bass and Callum Trent D’Arley on drums. The next year, he released a set of compilations offering different outtakes and unreleased paths called Forgot to keep in mind release a, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The brand new lineup continuing to crank out paths, issuing the 2015 EP The Technique and its own Use in EVERYDAY LIVING and the solitary Idiot Blues before putting your signature on with U.K. label Poor Paintings. Proto Idiot’s 1st launch for the label was the ambitious dual recording Also Known As/His Colony Young boys, which found its way to early 2016.
