Developing their first group after they had been kicked away from a San Francisco-area senior high school, vocalist/guitarist Josh Zee (the son of a specialist folksinger) and drummer Dan Thompson performed for quite some time in a variety of local rings before developing the grungy alternative pop group Protein in 1994. The duo performed several displays before changing their part-time bassist with Russ Violet and produced a good displaying at a SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA music-industry display in 1996. Agreed upon to Sony’s Function subsidiary, Proteins released their debut record, Ever Since I USED TO BE a youngster, in early 1997. Tracks About Cowgirls implemented two years afterwards.
