The Mancunian rap/acoustic trio referred to as Prose drew a wide selection of comparisons within their early press coverage. These were described as a combined mix of down-to-earth U.K. hip-hop, like the Roads or Program B, and some melodic lad rock and roll that got its cues from fellow Mancunians Oasis. Their lyrical strategy was motivated by life knowledge, often covering extremely personal topics. All three people — Mike Murray (rap, vocals), Dave Rock (bassist, manufacturer), and Lee Royle (electric guitar) — have been pursuing a profession in music for several years ahead of Prose. Murray and Rock had been cousins; because they had been growing up, Rock would often make beats for Murray to flex his linguistic muscle groups. This dynamic transformed when Murray needed even more of a live, organic experience to his music, therefore Rock asked guitarist Royle to lead. The trio gelled immediately and began getting together with through to a every week basis; before they understood it, six years experienced exceeded. Finally, in 2014, they made a decision to begin playing before an target audience, enlisting friends to take care of the secrets and drums for his or her early live shows. Initially, they simply loved playing music collectively and uploading the unusual monitor to YouTube, until these were found out by London-based rapper Naughty Boy, who subsequently introduced these to Emeli Fine sandé. They continued to support Fine sandé at a gig for any homeless charity in London, playing before 700 people, their largest target audience up compared to that stage.
