Professionals

This UK band was an offshoot in the notorious Sex Pistols and originally featured Paul Cook (b. 20 July 1956, London, Britain; drums/vocals) and Steve Jones (Stephen Phillip Jones, 3 Sept 1955, Shepherd’s Bush, London, Britain; electric guitar/vocals) plus Andy Allen (bass). The trio started recording periods in middle-1980 but Allen departed following the discharge of two singles, ‘Simply Another Wish’ and ‘1-2-3’ (an record featuring the Make/Jones/Allen line-up was ultimately released in 1990). Make and Jones had been then joined up with by Ray McVeigh (electric guitar/vocals) and Paul Myers (bass, ex-Vic Goddard AS WELL AS THE Subway Sect). The quartet received a lot of press interest because of the participation of Make and Jones, but their 1981 debut record and a small number of singles cannot convince either the critics or the record-buying open public that that they had anything to provide. The Professionals divide the following calendar year after completing another US tour.
