Priscilla Stewart

Little is well known about the life span of Priscilla Stewart, a vintage female blues vocalist who also sing beyond that genre sometimes. She documented some 25 songs at 14 different classes in Chicago between 1924 and 1928, many of them with pianist Jimmy Blythe, although she also worked well at differing times with pianists Clarence Johnson and J.H. Shayne. In “Delta Bottom level Blues,” a track she so-wrote with Blythe, she sings “Method straight down on the Delta, honey, that is where I result from…I was created in Arkansas, raised in Memphis, Tennessee,” nonetheless it isn’t known how autobiographical the track happens to be or isn’t.
