This UK band was formed in 1968 at Essex University, England. The creative hippie co-operative revolved around Belinda ‘Bindy’ Borquin (vocals/recorder/violin/piano), Main Cartwright (acoustic guitar/mandolin/recorder) and David Jones (percussion) who have been initially became a member of by Jeremy Ensor (bass) and vocalists Martin Stellman, Monica Nettles and Vivienne McAuliffe. Several dancers, professionals and stage hands required the line-up quantity into double numbers and, having documented Soundtrack for John Peel off’s Dandelion Information label, the group left behind university to determine a commune. Second recording The Asmoto Operating Band, made by Red Floyd drummer Nick Mason, preceded an ambitious time of year at London’s Hampstead Theater Golf club. The residency exacerbated an interior dispute over greatest direction, and the machine disintegrated in Dec 1971. Bourquin, Cartright and Jones reshaped the music group around Nick Pallett (acoustic guitar/vocals), Richard Chipperfield-Jones (bass/vocals) and Geoff Nicholls (drums) and, having fallen the ‘Magic Theater’ suffix, finished the rock and roll orientated Circular One, again beneath the aegis of Mason.
