Prabir Mehta

A disciple of Brian Wilson, Ben Folds, and various other pop craftsmen, singer/songwriter Prabir Mehta initial entered the close-knit music picture of Richmond, VA, as the frontman from the ska clothing Murfreesboro. Many years of regional gigs extended the band’s pursuing in the home, but Murfreesboro steadily disbanded as many bandmates still left Richmond to wait college somewhere else. Mehta resurfaced with a fresh group, the Rachel Nevadas, while concurrently releasing material being a single artist. By the first 2000s, nevertheless, his musical preferences had shifted. Today concentrating on a mixture of traditional pop and rambunctious rock and roll & move, Mehta pieced jointly Prabir & the Substitutes in 2005, launching many albums (like the underground power pop gems Talk about and Five Small Items) in the next years.
