San Francisco-area music group Power13 was shaped by previous Sway frontman Paul Manousos. Manousos started the visit a business lead guitar and tempo section to try out his tracks in 1994. Previous Soaring Monkeys and Little Period Napoleons bassist Edgar San Gabriel became a member of Manousos in 1998, adopted quickly by another previous Soaring Monkeys member, drummer Joe LoBue. The three, alongside guitarist Zachary Smith, composed the initial lineup of Power13. Following a brief stint with Power13, Smith was changed by a even more blues-oriented guitarist, Ari Bloom. Self-described mainly because “precisely what is gorgeous and dirty on the subject of rock & move,” Power13 skillfully mixes soulful rock and roll with tempo & blues. Paul Manousos provides passionate vocals over Bloom’s bluesy business lead guitar, as well as the combination produces an interesting musical encounter. Power13 released their 1st record, Quickly, in 2002 on Surprise and Fall Information.
