Byron Blum and Melissa Blue constitute the mysterious San Francisco-based garage-punk-with-synths clothing POW! After launching an individual in 2011 (“Pretend There”) for Afterlife Information, not much occurred on their behalf until these were uncovered by John Dwyer, the like-minded mind of Castle Encounter Records and head of Thee Oh Views. He asked them to produce a record, they do, as well as the causing lo-fi, hi-energy Hi-Tech Increase premiered in early 2014. The music group also released another one that calendar year (“One Eyed Scorpion”) for Glazer Information and added a fresh member, Seth Sutton (who got already performed drums on a few of their recordings and is at the band Ineffective Eaters with Blum). POW! toured, after that hit the studio room with maker Chris Woodhouse. The ensuing album, Fight Open fire, ended up being a very much cleaner, sleeker affair and premiered by Castle Encounter in the springtime of 2015. By enough time they released their following album, that they worked on once again with Woodhouse, these were right down to the duo of Blum and Blue. Split an Egg premiered in early 2017, once again by Castle Encounter.
