Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends

Based in a little fishing village in the Celtic Sea in North Cornwall, traditional English folk group Slot Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends first started performing portside at night (through the summertime) for tourists and locals in 1995. Constructed on a base of maritime background and its wealthy oral customs, and focusing on Forebitters, shanteys, and traditional Cornish folk tracks, the ten-man group promises no bandleader, rather the spirited military of fisherman, lifeboatmen, coastguards, contractors, artisans, hoteliers, and shopkeepers trade off qualified prospects, while the staying vocalists harmonize — the people have been close friends since years as a child, and discovered to sing jointly at their regional Methodist cathedral. The group, who inked a cope with General in the past due 2000s, released their eponymous debut record this year 2010.
