Polyrock

THE BRAND NEW York-based new wave band Polyrock formed in the later ’70s using a lineup including vocalist Catherine Oblasney, guitarists Billy Robertson and Tommy Robertson, drummer Joseph Yannece, and keyboard player Lenny Aaron. The group, that was influenced with the minimalism of Philip Cup, agreed upon with RCA by 1980 and delivered their eponymous debut record that same season. Both debut and sophomore record, 1981’s Changing Hearts, highlighted appearances by Cup. Polyrock split up by 1982, and ROIR released the retrospective No Like Shed in 1986.
